Product options help on Maldon Jewellery Co

The first section allows you to choose a fitting.

The default is the 6mm sterling silver jump ring.

Each option has a tiny "i" next to it for a little more information and example images.

As we sell 13mm lobster clips as well as the large 15mm losbter clips, you might not want a 9mm or 11mm, so here you would select "No Fitting supplied", which would reduce the price of the item fractionally, then you would go to the product on the website for the 13 or 15mm lobster clip and add to the basket.  Please don't just assume we will attach the 13/15mm to your charm.  So we don't have thousands of confusing options, as you go through checkout, please add to the order notes something like, "Please attach the 15mm lobster clip to the duck charm".  It might seem obvious to you that the lobster clip is to be fitted to the charm but people buy for all sorts of reasons and they might be for different purposes.

Similar to the above you might not want to have the bead carrier that we use the most on the charm you have chosen, so as above, select "no fitting supplied" and then also add to your basket the fitting you have chosen.  Then let is know what you want attached to what and possible if you want it soldered.

Next is the option for "Original bail - ring - fitting"

There are some of the charms that will have a pendant loop or might have a weird loop and some customers have said they did not want a jump ring replacing it.  We therefore implemented an option to keep the original loop.  Some of the photos I took of the charms were many many years ago when we used the suppliers own jump rings.  Looking back, some of these were hideous, like badly formed silver wire.  Saying that, some buyers do want those original fittings and we do try to tidy them up as much as possible, but for most they do choose the new 6mm jump ring.

From there we have the solder option.

What is soldering in another FAQ to avoid confusion we call it soldering when in fact it is micro welding. We use a jewellery micro welder which fuses together the silver and creates a good strong bond.

So, if you were to choose a lobster clip or bead carrier option the solder option should be automatically selected to "YES solder fitting".  This means that the tiny fitting connecting ring that is open when fitted will be sealed closed using the micro welder.  Some customer might be going to do something else with the charm and therefore select "No DO NOT solder fitting".

Finally there are options for a small silver coloured card box as well as organza bag.

If there are other options you would like to see, then please let us know and we will investigate, as the background process for options has been long and arduous!

If you would like to see a charm on a particular fitting then please reach out and ask and I will do my best top photograph it with th option you ask about.  It's not an instant process

I hope the above helps but if you need help then please do let us know.
